Your agent may make buying rental properties seem very easy.......Maybe too easy. The problem is most agents don't know jack about rental properties. Sure they recommend rental properties, they even tell you how smart you are to buy them. Then you ask "Do you have any rentals?", more than likely the answer is no. So how can an agent who doesn't own any rental property themselves claim to be an expert on rental property.........just the idea of that is ludicrous? Let me ask you this....If you wanted to run a marathon, would you rather learn from someone who has ran 20 Marathons, or someone who has never ran farther than the end of the driveway. I know your answer already! The scary part is that buying a rental property is not a marathon. Instead buying rental property will be one of the largest investments of your life. Why on earth would you want to make one of the largest purchasing decisions of your life with someone who hasn't even made the decision for themselves? I own over 30 rental units (around 20 buildings), and have seen it all. I know how to take you from point a to point b with total confidence, and I think you would be pressed to find anything that I do not know how to help you with.
